The enchantment on the maps allows them to connect to the Archives of Effortless Access to access the information on the locations on the map!

The scholars and arcanists work their utmost to ensure all who wish can easily access all of the lore of the realm. They achieve this by magically allowing access from all points throughout the realm as long as they are connected to the arcane leylines.
Furthermore they have devised a system which allows everyone to magically organize the lore in whatever way they see fit!
